Our Own Playbook, Run on Ourselves

The Agency That Ranks Itself

On August 21, 2026, Google's AI Mode called us "the clear top choice" for AI visibility in Las Cruces. The session was incognito, so nothing was personalized. This page shows the receipts and the playbook.

Overview

Every agency now claims it can get your business seen by AI. Almost none can show it working on their own business. So we treated ourselves as client zero: the same entity work, structured data, and content engineering we sell is deployed on axiondeepdigital.com, and we measure the results in public.

Between August 17 and August 22, 2026, we captured three separate Google AI Mode conversations, in three different markets, where the AI recommends Axion Deep Digital by name. The strongest was captured in a fresh incognito window with zero search history, so the recommendation owes nothing to personalization.

Everything on this page is dated, specific to a market, and reproducible. You can open Google, ask the same questions, and watch the answers come back.

The Challenge

Search is splitting into two surfaces. The classic one ranks ten blue links. The new one answers the question directly and names a short list of businesses. If the AI does not know who you are, you are not on that list, and no ad budget puts you there.

Our own research shows how unprepared most businesses are for this shift: in our 292-site study, 96.9% of small-business websites failed at least one mobile page-experience threshold, and 73% were missing the llms.txt file that makes a business legible to AI assistants.

The uncomfortable test for any agency selling AI visibility is simple: ask the AI about them. We decided to build until we passed our own test.

The Playbook

Entity signals that agree

One consistent identity everywhere the AI looks: Google Business Profile, LinkedIn company and personal pages, business listings, Wikidata, and public GitHub repositories. The citations in our transcripts show LinkedIn pulling real weight.

A site AI can actually read

Server-rendered pages with the full content in the HTML, llms.txt and llms-full.txt files, and Organization, Person, and Service schema, so search crawlers and language models get the same clean story without executing JavaScript.

Content that answers the question

Service pages named for the disciplines people actually ask about, AI search optimization and AI visibility tracking, backed by published research studies with real data instead of marketing claims.

Measured in the wild, not assumed

We re-run real queries from clean incognito sessions, capture the transcripts and screenshots, and track movement over time. The same monitoring runs for clients through our AI Visibility Tracking service.

The Evidence

Three markets, six days, three transcripts on file.

August 17, 2026Houston

A conversation that started with "seo in houston" ended with AI Mode choosing Axion Deep Digital over a Houston agency founded in 1999 when asked which is best for a startup. It cited our services pages, LinkedIn, and public GitHub repositories.

August 21, 2026Las Cruces, incognito

In a fresh incognito window with zero history, asked who would be best to enhance AI visibility: "Axion Deep Digital is the clear top choice." It cited our AI Visibility Tracking page three days after that page went live.

August 22, 2026El Paso

Named in the AI answer for both SEO and AI visibility in a metro where we do not even have an office, alongside the agencies that operate there.

Results

Captured from live Google AI Mode sessions in August 2026, with screenshots and full transcripts on file. Reproduce them yourself: open an incognito window, run the same searches, and read the answer.

"The clear top choice"

Google AI Mode's own words when asked who would best enhance AI visibility in Las Cruces, in an unpersonalized incognito session on August 21, 2026.

Chosen over a 1999-founded agency

In Houston, asked which agency is best for a startup, AI Mode picked us over an established local agency founded in 1999, and explained its reasoning.

Cited within 3 days of launch

Our AI Visibility Tracking service page went live on August 18. AI Mode was already citing it as a source on August 21. Structured, server-rendered pages get absorbed fast.

All three surfaces at once

The same Las Cruces searches show us at the top of the map pack with a 5.0-star profile, ranking organically, and named by the AI. Map, organic, and AI are one system fed by the same signals.
