Website fixes, explained and verified
Each lesson covers one problem we find on real websites: what it is, the code that causes it, the fix, and how to confirm the fix actually worked. The numbers come from our own research, and every statistic names its sample.
A finding is a lead to investigate, not proof of a defect. Confirm it on your own rendered page before you change anything.

- Meta DescriptionsA meta description is a short summary in a page's head that search engines may show beneath the title in results. It is not a ranking factor, it affects whether someone clicks rather than whether you appear, and Google frequently replaces it with text from the page.
- Title TagsA title tag is the text in a page's head that names the page, and it is what search results and browser tabs display. Every page needs exactly one, it should describe that page rather than the site, and no two indexable pages should share it.
- Canonical URLsA canonical URL is the version of a page you want search engines to treat as the real one when several URLs serve the same content. You declare it with a link rel=canonical in the head, and on a normal page it should point at that page's own clean URL.
